Edit PDFs without handing them over
Smooth on every page, precise in every detail.
Most online PDF tools upload your file to their servers first. KTPDF does the work on your own machine — in the app or right inside your browser tab. Your contracts, records and paperwork never leave your computer.
Works in your browser — nothing to install.

Why it matters
Your file never leaves your machine
This is not a promise about how we handle your data. It is a fact about where the code runs: there is no server to send anything to.
Nothing is uploaded
The browser version does every step — reading, editing, embedding fonts, writing the new file — inside your own tab. Open your network monitor while you work and you will see your document is never sent.
No account, no queue
No sign-up, no email, no daily limit, no waiting for a free slot. Open the page and start working.
Works with no internet
The desktop app never needs a connection. Once the browser version has loaded, you can pull the plug and keep working.
Nothing to delete afterwards
Because your file was never copied anywhere, there is no server-side cache to worry about and nothing to ask us to erase.
Everything you actually need from a PDF tool
Built around the jobs people really do with documents, not a checklist of features nobody uses.
Edit the text that is already there
Click a line in the document and retype it. KTPDF rewrites the real content stream and re-embeds the font, so the result is a proper PDF — not a picture of one pasted over the original.
Add text boxes and images
Drop a new text box anywhere, pick the font, size, colour and alignment, or place an image. Text wraps automatically as you type.
Merge files
Combine any number of PDFs into one, dragging them into the order you want before you export.
Split files
Pull out a page range, or break a document into separate files in one pass.
Rearrange pages
Drag thumbnails to reorder, select several at once, rotate, delete, or insert blank pages and pages from another file.
Annotate and sign
Highlighter, boxes, ellipses, arrows and freehand drawing — written into the file as real vector content, so it stays sharp when printed.
Search that understands Vietnamese
Type without diacritics and still find the accented word. Results are listed with context so you can jump straight to the right page.
Print what you see
Printing uses the document exactly as it stands on screen, including edits you have not saved yet.
Three steps, no detours
The same flow whether you use the app or the browser.
- 1
Open your file
Drag a PDF onto the window, or pick it from your computer. Nothing is copied anywhere.
- 2
Make your changes
Edit text, add notes, reorder pages, merge or split. Undo works through every step.
- 3
Save it back
The desktop app writes straight over the original. In Chrome and Edge the browser version does too; elsewhere it downloads the new file.
Two ways to use it
Same engine, same result. Pick whichever suits the moment.
Desktop app
For everyday work and large documents.
- Opens hundreds of pages comfortably
- Saves straight over the original file
- Opens PDFs by double-clicking in Finder or Explorer
- Remembers recent files and where you stopped reading
- Never needs an internet connection
In your browser
For a quick job on a machine that is not yours.
- Nothing to install, works on any computer
- Same editing engine as the app
- Your file still never leaves the machine
- Save over the original in Chrome and Edge
- Downloads the new file in Safari and Firefox
Try it on a real document
No sign-up, no upload, no trial period. Open a file and see for yourself.
A PDF editor that keeps your documents on your own machine
KTPDF is a free PDF editor for macOS, Windows and the browser. It opens a document, lets you change the text that is already in it, add new text boxes and images, highlight and annotate, reorder and rotate pages, merge several files into one, split one file into several, search the contents, and print or save the result.
The difference from the usual online PDF tools is where the work happens. Services that ask you to upload a file are processing it on their servers, which means your contract, medical record or internal report has been copied to a machine you do not control. KTPDF runs entirely on your side — the browser version inside your own tab, the desktop app on your own computer — so the document is never sent anywhere.
That also means no account, no daily limit, no file-size cap and no queue. Open the editor and start working.
